The marine environment in which our daily activities take place is especially sensitive to the actions of our users. For this reason, protecting this environment is the main axis on which our actions are based. In this sense, the El Balís Yacht Club has been aware of environmental problems for years and works with the related departments of the Catalan Government in the environmental protection of our port and its surroundings, adapting our activity to ISO 14001.
The ISO 9001 Quality System provides the Club and its services with ongoing developments in its daily management work through a process of continuous improvement. The ISO 9001 certificate is the most common and generally recognized ISO certificate, as it allows the club to demonstrate its ability to meet customer requirements and certify this ability before any stakeholder.
The ISO 14001 Environmental Management certificate, whose framework is widely recognized in all business and administrative areas, is based on a scope of voluntary action for environmental conservation measures and also includes aspects related to energy saving, conservation of the marine environment and proper monitoring of waste disposal. All of which is done with the focus placed on laying the foundations for continuous improvement in daily activities and the reduction of environmental risks.
The Maresme Sustainability Table qualified the Club as suitable within the framework of the Compromís programme for Biosphere Tourism Sustainability in the Barcelona region. The objective of this seal is to recognize entities whose management is committed to being respectful of climate change, the environment, culture and social and economic return on investment. The criteria for obtaining this distinction are based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set out in the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The El Balís Yacht Club has the Blue Flag, awarded by the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC), which recognizes cleanliness, safety, the natural environment and respect for the seabed. The seal is evidence of how well the El Balís Yacht Club takes care of its facilities and the environment. The Blue Flag certification is awarded by an international jury of the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), with the collaboration of the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC), and it is an international recognition.
